Small Batch American Whiskey - 46.5% ABV

Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey is a 93-proof whiskey distilled, aged and bottled entirely by Uncle Nearest.

Each batch is curated by 5th generation Nearest Green descendant and our Master Blender, Victoria Eady Butler, who was named Master Blender of the Year by Whisky Magazine for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022 as well as receiving the same honor from The Spirits Business and Vinepair in 2021.

TASTING NOTES
Nose: Honey and warm brown sugar, cedar, orange peel and tobacco flower. Spices of ground ginger and white pepper.

Palate: Caramel balanced with spicy wood tannins. Notes of baking chocolate, cigar leaf, nougat and cinnamon.

Finish: Long and smooth. The cinnamon lingers with dark chocolate, oak tannins and maple syrup.

Straight Rye

100% Straight Rye American Whisky

This was a lofty experiment that worked.

The results of this 100-percent rye mash bill, matured in used Uncle Nearest barrels before being bottled at 100-proof, keeps with our tradition of creating some of the most awarded whiskeys in the world.

This is rye whiskey, elevated, hitting every mark with its rich flavor profile, incredible balance of spices, and extraordinarily smooth finish.

TASTING NOTES
Nose: Bold and decadent with notes of praline, nutmeg and white pepper.

Palate: Brimming with light vanilla cream, caramelized sugar and the unmistakable spice of rye.

Finish: Long, rich and well-balanced.

Single Barrel Rye

Bottled at cask strength, this Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey is what other ryes work hard to grow up to be.

Tennessee does a lot of things well; growing rye is not one of them. So, we sought out the best from other states.

Each of our inaugural barrels hails from New York, where they aged in new American oak for a minimum of four years after a short stint in B.C., where they were born.

These barrels began as a lofty experiment in 2017.

Was it possible to create an ultra-smooth whiskey, with flavor galore, made from 100% rye? That was the question.

The answer took a while but was well worth the wait: hell yeah.

Uncut/Unfiltered Rye Whiskey

Uncut. Unfiltered. Unbelievable. This is straight rye whiskey done right.

In the words of Uncle Nearest 4x Master Blender of the Year, Victoria Eady Butler, “My great-great-grandfather was known for his whiskey filtration method. But this 100% rye is so spectacular, we dared not cut or filter it.”

The funny thing about Tennessee, is for all our stunning farms and incredible farmers, we can’t grow rye worth a damn.

A grain so easily grown in other states, gets chocked up in our soil.

So, we went out to find the best straight rye and brought it back home to rest in used Uncle Nearest barrels. WHERE DID WE FINALLY FIND IT? NEW YORK, BABY!

Born in the north, then raised for at least four years in the big city, before moving to God’s Country for some well-deserved rest.
